View:980According to EU statistics, there are over 500 renewable energy subsidies in the EU, and the total amount of renewable energy subsidies has been continuously increasing since 2015, increasing to 88 billion euros in 2020. In 2021, due to the impact of the increase in wholesale electricity prices, it decreased to 86 billion euros for the first time, and slightly rebounded to 87 billion euros in 2022. Electricity subsidies in 2022 have increased threefold compared to 2021.
In 2022, solar energy (solar photovoltaic and concentrated solar) received the most subsidies (25 billion euros), followed by wind energy and biomass energy (15 billion euros each).
